Why does Fox destroy everything that is beautiful?

So, everyone knows that amazing show on Fox, right? The one co-created by executive producer Tim Minear? The one starring Nathan Fillion? The one they cancelled after less than a season?

What? Firefly? No, I'm talking about Drive!

It seems that Drive didn't get high enough ratings. It was only the 5th most watched show in its timeslot. Also, it's blamed for dragging down 24's ratings. Because, of course, nothing else could possibly be to blame for that. Not the fact that this season of 24 has by and large sucked. Or perhaps there's another amazingly popular show on at the same time. Heroes, perhaps? No, all Drive's fault.

So what, you may be asking yourself, are they putting in its place to fix these waning ratings? Reruns of House. No doubt going to be much more popular than this new show that wasn't given a chance. For being so supportive of right-wing agendas, Rupert Murdoch sure seems fond of abortion.

Everyone who hasn't done so already should check out falsetrivia. It's an alternate blog I made that's about a month old now. What I do is take some random detail about history, and I embellish it, make stuff up about it, and just generally be silly. There are currently only 5 articles up, but more go up each week. I try to update every Friday morning, just after midnight PST. Or is it PDT now? I can never remember. Anyway, yes. Go, see, friend. For that matter, tell your friends. More readers is always nice.

(My first LJ post in over a month, and it's pimping another blog. Sheesh.)

Operation Catnap: Successful

Agent Colin O'Kelley: Mission Report 111805

At around 1400, Agent Kriss contacted me, holding a cat carrier, saying "Let's go." I was confused, as I did not think I would fit in a cat carrier, and explained this to her. She reprimanded me and told me that we had received orders to rescue Wicket, a 13-year-old cat being held against his will. So, we headed out to where Wicket was trapped as quickly as we could.

Without event, we got there and quickly counted the number of cars parked outside the enemy base. There was one more than our intelligence had indicated. The plan would be a bust if security caught us, but we went ahead with it anyway. As we approached the building, we heard a guard dog start barking from inside. We froze, fearing getting caught by the extra person. Fortunately, despite the dog noticing us, it seemed that security was lax, and nobody heard the dog. After a brief search, we found Wicket's cell, outside the building. Kriss opened it, and Wicket came bursting out. Much to Wicket's displeasure and protest, we put him in the cat carrier Kriss had brought. We hid, and I called in for immediate extraction.

After half an hour, we determined that the extraction team wasn't coming, and we would have to find our own way back to the safe house. We decided that we should take the fastest method, and that happened to be public transportation. A great security risk, as I pointed out to Kriss, but I could think of nothing better. As we got onto the bus, I heard someone shout "KITTY!" at the top of their lungs. I instinctively reached for my knife to silence the screamer before it could inform anyone else, but it turned out to be a 3-year-old child. I eased my grip on the knife, still hidden under my coat, and we sat down, trying to keep Wicket calm. Agent Kriss tried to tell me not to worry, but I could swear I saw enemy agents on the sidewalk as we passed.

We got off the bus 2 blocks from the safehouse, and started making our way there. It seems that I had seen the agents I had suspected, as when we were a block from the safe house, they opened fire, hitting Agent Kriss in the leg. I called ahead to the safe house, requesting immediate backup. Snipers on the roof dealt with our tailers as Kriss caught back up to me, limping. Once inside the safe house, we were able to let Wicket out of the cat carrier, finally.

Despite her injury, Kriss was eager to transfer Wicket to his new home, but due to the enemies getting so close to our safe house, it would be a few hours before anyone was allowed in or out. So, 5 hours later, after thorough intelligence work, we were allowed to continue the relocation mission. This time, we were given transportation by the agency both there and back, so there were no problems. Also, Wicket was far calmer this time, knowing what was going on.

I've been watching Shaman King. Yoh or You or however you want to spell it is such a stoner. Seriously, in the first episode he stands on a bridge staring at the river for 3 hours without moving. Plus he does weird shit like flailing his arms and legs around, and calling it "fighting the heat". Definate stoner.

Oh, and I finished watching Gantz. The moral of the story: "People suck. Deal with it."
